One of our goals here at Today’s Author is to help all of the writers among us to do what we love to do: write. One of the best ways to accomplish this is by talking to each other and learning from each other. Our Writers Circle series is designed to do just that – provide a chance for us to discuss writing, editing and publishing questions.

Today's Author 
I do have music on and it’s usually the play list Spotify pick for me based on my listening history. That’s usually a lot of 80’s ( cause I’m old) pop and some rock or their mood play lists like early morning wake up. I don’t tend to hear it when I’m writing, but interetingly I know when it stops.
It really depends for me as to what I am writing. Music can both sooth and invigorate, annoy and anger. It can prompt me with images I might not have otherwise have thought to include – or it can distract me away from my intentions.
I used to participate in a writing prompt which used a specific song – years ago – Monday Music Musings I think we called it… really interesting the stories and poetry gained from one song.
