The Writers Circle: Social Media

TWC
One of our goals here at Today’s Author is to help all of the writers among us to do what we love to do: write. One of the best ways to accomplish this is by talking to each other and learning from each other.  Our Writers Circle series is designed to do just that – provide a chance for us to discuss writing, editing and publishing questions.

This week’s topic is:

Most of us have Facebook, twitter, linked in and other social media accounts. On these sites, do you have one for personal use and a separate one for writing-related activities or do you use a single account for both?  If you use multiple accounts, how do you get the word out about your writing social media presence?  If you use a single one, do you have any issues with people thinking you are too pushy in your posts about your writing?  How do you balance your personal presence and your writing presence on social media platforms?

Let’s discuss this in the comments and see what our community thinks.

  1. At the moment I use a single account for everything. Except LinkIn which I keep strictly for my day job activities. I might create an Author’s page on FB if I ever get close to publishing a real book.
