One of our goals here at Today’s Author is to help all of the writers among us to do what we love to do: write. One of the best ways to accomplish this is by talking to each other and learning from each other. Our Writers Circle series is designed to do just that – provide a chance for us to discuss writing, editing and publishing questions.
This week’s topic is:
Every writer has a preferred writing spot. Perhaps it’s a desk in the corner of a quiet room, or the couch in the middle of the busy family room. Perhaps it’s a table in a local coffee shop. Today we want to know where you like to write and what it is about that location that makes it your special spot.

I have to write using a computer, so I have set up a small office in my house with a computer desk and all the needed ergonomic devices.
I have a converted bedroom with a gorgeous view of lots of trees. It’s a bit small which means everything can be reached from my chair.
Computer in the middle of a room I don’t want it to be. Long range plan is to convert a secondary bedroom into my office/studio. I need a large, ergonomically designed keyboard so more portable computers don’t work well for me.
However, I write in my head all day long – sitting on the deck overlooking the trees, grocery shopping, trying to fall asleep. Always looking for a piece of paper and pencil at the least opportune times.
