The Writers Circle: Gifts for Writers 2015

TWC
One of our goals here at Today’s Author is to help all of the writers among us to do what we love to do: write. One of the best ways to accomplish this is by talking to each other and learning from each other.  Our Writers Circle series is designed to do just that – provide a chance for us to discuss writing, editing and publishing questions.

This week’s topic is:

With the holiday season upon us, thoughts turn to gifts for us or for our loved ones. What do you, as a writer, wish someone would give you as a gift this holiday season? What are you planning to give to the writers on your gifting list?

Let’s discuss this in the comments and see what our community thinks.

  1. I’m very lucky. I already have a husband who doesn’t complain about my time spent writing. But if I could have a gift related to writing, it would be an on-going course about tech skills taught by a very patient teacher. I’m a digital doofus. Also, I’d actually like a tablet of some kind, something portable. Love my big home computer with the ergonomically correct keyboard, but a computer I could tuck in my purse – that would be very cool. Best present of all: an agent knocking down my door, begging to represent me, one who knows the perfect editor that will get my book published. If I have to settle for what I already have – the husband who supports my writing – that’s good enough as it’s already a great gift.

Happy holidays, everyone. May all your dreams come true and all your gifts be worthy of sharing.

  2. Time is the greatest gift a writer can receive. Time to write, time to research, time to walk on the beach to be inspired.

    Encouragement is the other gift.
Those are the two gifts I’ve give.

  3. Me–a visit from my children. I love being around these great adults.

  4. A couple of those pens that have the little light behind the nib/point so I can write at night and not have to switch on the light. One week comprising 48 hour each day or a gadget that will stop time 😀
