One of our goals here at Today’s Author is to help all of the writers among us to do what we love to do: write. One of the best ways to accomplish this is by talking to each other and learning from each other. Our Writers Circle series is designed to do just that – provide a chance for us to discuss writing, editing and publishing questions.
This week’s topic is:
Last time, we discussed 2014’s wins and losses. Today let’s focus on 2015. What are your writing goals for 2015? Do you intent to start a new project? Restart an existing one? Finish an old one? We’re not seeking writing resolutions here, just a discussion of what you hope to achieve in your writing life this year.
Let’s discuss this in the comments and see what our community thinks.
I won’t add anything because I know you’re publishing my article this week. Lots of fun plans comin’ up!
For me, I’d like to call my goal for 2015 “simple”: write a story. Any story, but at least write one. 2014 was not a good year for me in the writing universe and looking out into 2015 the fates are still stacking the deck against me being able to find the time I need to write. So, I’m setting the bar low in hopes that getting one story under my belt will inspire loftier goals.
I think most of my writing goals for 2015 boil down to one thing: learn more about writing and improve my skills.
Planning to complete the three books near to done, and start at least one of the others I’ve wanted to write. Want to pursue some kind of publication and though I’m still enchanted by traditional publishing with all the bells and whistles and public heraldry, I’ll probably end up with a self published book at some point. Hope to pay better attention to my blog; my initial ambitions broke down under everyday weight. So, lots to DO!
